“The devils are gathering. They are bored. They are hungry.”
It wasn’t just a figure of speech. In the town squares, devils sat on the roadside like desperate actors out of work, muttering:
“Please… somebody tell a lie…somebody start a scandal. At least make up a fake story…”
They were not the only ones restless. The rich and powerful longed to feel their power. Without conflict, without fear, they felt… smaller.
Some leaders spoke of preparing for war. Others thought of fleeing. But one calm, mischievous soul asked a different question:
“Why fight their nature? What if we feed it in a way that harms no one?”
So he built the Devil’s Cinema & Arcade Complex— a realm within a realm. There, chaos could roar without touching the real world. Endless screens of lies and drama, games where entire kingdoms could rise and fall, gossip cafés pouring bottomless scandal.
The poor and the weary? In the calm world outside, the humanity at large began to live better — without force, without speeches. Life simply became kinder, easier.
In flying castles hovering over the most stunning sights on the earth, the rich and powerful were served with all their peaceful desires, living as if in paradise, their thrones truly higher and above all others.
When the devils arrived, they peered at the entrance suspiciously.
“No traps? No chains?” they asked.
“None,” said the human. “Your world is inside. Ours is down there.”
They entered willingly. Their hunger was fed, their egos satisfied, their victories unmatched — all in their own world. Outside, the air stayed still. No wars. No whispers. No corruption. No needless suffering. The powerful still felt powerful, the devils still felt victorious… and every everyday people lived in peace forever after…
